Safety Tech Apply
Job Description:
Reviews safety issues, accidents and near misses and works with the leadership team and employees to develop plans for resolution.  Conducts and schedules site and safety compliance inspections, including accidents and incidents investigation. Uses a working knowledge of personal, industrial & occupational safety to manage safety programs such as Life Safety Code, Forklift Operations, Hoist & Crane Operations, Lifting Equipment programs, Blood borne Pathogen Exposure Control, Respiratory Protection, PPE Program, Hazard Communication and other OSHA required programs. Collects site storm water samples.  Conducts production, shop and maintenance floor audits, submitting maintenance requests as required ensuring corrective actions. Complies with all environmental, health and safety federal, state, local regulations and company policies. Employee may have responsibilities of handling, storing and/or shipping hazardous waste.  Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Associates Degree in Occupational Safety or Environmental Health and Safety or related field preferred.  Basic knowledge of safety and health principles.  Experience in managing compliance of safety (personal, industrial and occupational) regulations, policies and procedures.  Functional oral and written communication skills. Ability to utilize computer technology to prepare reports, access data and maintain records. Knowledge of federal, state and local laws and regulation relating to safety. Creative problem solving to recognize and analyze needs and propose solutions to effectively address them. Ability to plan and coordinate multiple diverse tasks simultaneously. Requires experience MS Word, Excel, database computer skills, internet search tools, and power point presentation software.
